To be united in our responsibility to carry out Jesus’ command to go to all peoples everywhere and make disciples of all nations.
Objective 1: To nurture, develop and promote prayer and spirituality as the foundation of all our life.
Prayers: Conduct public services of morning prayer (Monday – Friday)
Monthly Evensong service
Eucharists: Sunday Eucharists, Wednesday midday and evening eucharists
Pastoral services (baptisms, weddings, and funerals)
Objective 2: Nurturing believers to build and strengthen a clear recognition of “Us” as the Body of Christ
in our ministry unit.
Promote study groups and church ministry groups (Men’s breakfasts, Children’s workbooks, SSF third order and any others which develop during the year).
Explore ways of developing our unity as the Townsville Ministry Unit (eg combined services)
Objective 3: To recognise, value and encourage the sharing of God’s gifts in us all.
Encourage the participation of all people.
Promote gifted members in each church to take up different roles (licenced lay ministers, choir members, bible readers, intercessors, guild of servers, conducting daily prayers and others).
Objective 4: To build and recognise the connections between our life and the wider community,
with the expectation of further enhancing community engagement.
Allowing other Christian groups to use church buildings for worship and other Christian programmes.
Participate in ecumenical services/activities/programmes
Financial support of other missions through the promotion of the “Mission of the Month”.
Initiate groups that will create unity and fellowship.
Objective 5 Caring for those in need
Daily prayers for those in need (pew sheets/morning prayers).
Home communion and visits.
Nursing home visits.
Prison visits.
Hospital visits.
Maintenance of our social media platforms for those unable to attend worship.
